At the time when many major European embassies in Tripoli are unjustifiably treating Libyan visa seekers with contempt, disrespect and humiliation in spite of their huge economic interests in the country, Libya and Turkey decided on Tuesday to end immediately visa requirements between the two states.

Meanwhile, The Leader of the Revolution held talks with the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan both on Tuesday and Wednesday during which bilateral relations and the developments of the Palestinian cause, peace and security in the region and the reform of the UN were discussed.

The Turkish Prime Minister expressed his appreciation of the vision that the Leader revealed at his speech before the UN General Assembly, saying the Leader's vision was right on the need for reform of the UN Security Council.

The announcement of doing away with visa requirements made by the Libyan Secretary of the GPC Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi and his counterpart Mr. Erdogan in Tripoli.

"Our two countries reached an agreement to end visa requirements," Al-Mahmoudi told reporters.

The Turkish Trade and Industry Minister Zafer Caglayan who accompanied Erdogan told the media that Turkey aims to strengthen economic relations with Libya and that it has begun projects worth $21 billion to achieve such aim.

Al-Mahmoudi said "we are at a rather new phase of cooperation and we expect new measures in the coming period related to preparing an agreement on free trade zone, taxes and other issues."

He also announced that a supreme council for strategic cooperation would be established between Libya and Turkey as to help in implementing the signed agreements.

Politically, Al-Mahmoudi said the two countries agreed on regular exchange of ideas between the ministers of foreign affairs regarding the Palestinians issue, Somalia and on coordination in international organizations.

Quiet normal that Europe refuse to release visas for the libyans citizens until this country is using kidnapping against workers foreigners as a diplomatic way to resolve situation like Switzerland. Is that "kidnapping foreigners" a good business in Libya ?
