Indian construction and engineering firm Punj Lloyd Ltd said on Thursday a joint venture had won a contract worth $267 million to build infrastructure in Libya.

The project is from the Libyan Housing and Infrastructure Board for the execution of utilities in Souk Al Juma, Tripoli, Libya. The contract is scheduled for completion in 40 months.

The contract comes after a recent one that aimed to upgrade the infrastructure of the nearby Arada, an existing township in Tripoli, the company said.

The New Delhi-based company said the scope of this project includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of infrastructure networks, water-sewerage-storm water mains and branch lines, roads and other facilities for Souk Al Juma.
