The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) has recently signed a deal to develop small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Libya.
ICD, the private sector arm of the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), will be working with Libya's National Council for Economic Development (NCED) to implement the deal.
Khaled bin Mohammed Al Aboodi, CEO and general manager of ICD, said that at the moment the programme had been limited to financing medium and large projects.
But the new special fund, to be created as a result of the agreement, would operate for the benefit of SMEs.
The proposed fund is to be supported by incubators (premises with staff and equipment made available at low rent to new small businesses), which the NCED will create and sponsor.( Khaleej Times) |

Comment: This is really interesting. I just hope that none of this has anything to do with a Jordanian in Denver, CO who really played dirty politics with respect to mosques and the recruitment of US Muslims in the US in CO. I hope that this fellow had nothing to do with the recent jihadi from CO who is now in Europe, but you never know. This fellow is married to an American. He travelled from Denver to Fort Collins to try to act like he was having an affair with another American woman who was looking at the mosque in Fort Collins, which is a sort of suspect place. It was run in 2008 by a fellow whose parents became Muslim in Oakland, CA during a resurgence in Muslim nationalism in the US. This fellow, according to at least one reporter in the US, was about to commit mail fraud at the mosque in Fort Collins, even in front of local police, when an investigator looked at the mosque. In any case, the Jordanian thought that he would shut up the American woman in Fort Collins who was checking out mosques in each of Denver and Fort Collins by going to the motel she was staying at and acting like he was having an affair for her. She had to go to hotel staff and clear things up. Seriously. I hope that this Jordanian fund is not related to any of this. We don't need that in the US or in Europe.
