After the end of the US Open: tennis player Niemeier changes coaches

Tennis player Jule Niemeier will no longer work with coach Christopher Kas after the recent sporting setbacks. This was confirmed by manager Michael Geserer of the German Press Agency at the US Open on Monday (local time) in New York. Niemeier had already failed in the first round of qualifying for the last Grand Slam tournament. The “image” had previously reported on the separation.

After the decision, Niemeier and Kas traveled back to Germany together. According to Geserer, the 24-year-old will continue to train at the BeTennisBase Academy in Regensburg. In September, Niemeier will complete tournaments in Japan and China. The successor to Kas should be settled as long-term as possible.

With the former professional at her side, the Dortmund native had reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon last year as the greatest success of her career so far. This year, however, there were no good results, after the US Open Niemeier will no longer be among the top 130 in the world rankings.
