Bayern professional Noussair Mazraoui is at the center of a heated debate because of his pro-Palestinian posts on Instagram. A final decision about his future with the German record champions is still pending, but the pressure on the club is growing.
On Wednesday, Noussair Mazraoui was summoned to FC Bayern to explain his social media posts to club bosses. The defender shared a video in which he wished the Palestinians victory in the Middle East conflict.
According to “Bild”, “plain text” was spoken. But there was no subsequent decision. The “Süddeutsche Zeitung” reports that there is still a lack of clarity within Bayern’s management as to what will happen next with the 25-year-old defender. The doubts as to whether Mazraoui is still acceptable in the team seem to be increasing.
Israeli fan club with a clear statement
The “Bayern Israel” fan club was particularly vocal. In a Facebook post they demanded: “We expect FC Bayern Munich, which was essentially built on a Jewish community and fights racism in all ways, to know how to treat the player Noussair Mazraoui in accordance with the club’s values.”
Many other Bayern fans were also outraged by the Moroccan’s posts and are demanding consequences.
Mazraoui, who has a contract until 2026, could actually be on the verge of leaving Bayern because of his actions. The matter is sensitive, and according to “SZ”, the record champions’ management is also considering training the rest of the professional team to deal with the sensitive Middle East issue. According to information from “Sport1”, Bayern want to comment on the Mazraoui case in the coming days.
The defender did not take part in team training today. The Moroccan completed individual running training after returning from the international trip with muscular problems.
