The Bundesliga soccer club defeated Premier League club Manchester United 3-2 (2-1) in Las Vegas on Sunday evening (local time). The winning goal was scored in front of 50,857 spectators in the Allegiant Stadium by international player Youssoufa Moukoko in the 71st minute on a template from Marco Reus. Both offensive players had been substituted on by coach Edin Terzic shortly before. Reus came on for Donyell Malen, who put BVB in the lead with a double strike (43rd/44th). Diogo Dalot (24′) and Brazilian Antony (52′) scored for Manchester United, which started with ex-Dortmunder Jadon Sancho in the starting XI.
The Austrian Sabitzer, who was signed by FC Bayern Munich for around 20 million euros, started in midfield together with the new BVB captain Emre Can and Julian Brandt. Defensive player Thomas Meunier had to be injured in the second half just a few minutes after being substituted on (68′).
According to BVB, newcomer Felix Nmecha was still not part of the squad for reasons of load control. Borussia had won the first test in the USA against second division side San Diego Loyal 6-0. Before returning to Germany there is a third game in Chicago against Chelsea.
