The world mourns the loss of music legend Tina Turner. She died at the age of 83 after a long illness. Now pop icon Cher remembered her last meeting with the singer and reveals the last words between the two.
She has had to cope with countless strokes of fate and illnesses in recent years. Tina Turner finally died on Wednesday (May 24) at the age of 83 at her home near Zurich. The music legend previously fought, among other things, colon cancer, suffered from kidney failure and survived a stroke. Her health continued to deteriorate over the years – even though her husband Erwin Bach donated a kidney in 2017.
Only her closest relatives knew how bad things were for the 83-year-old rock ‘n’ roll queen. And friend Cher was also in the know and visited Tina Turner in Switzerland. In a telephone interview, the pop icon now told about her last meeting with the “The Best” singer.

Speaking to US show The Beat With Ari Meiber, Cher revealed she knew about Tina Turner’s long illness and decided to spend time with her. “I started visiting her because I thought: I have to invest this time in our friendship so that she knows that we haven’t forgotten all of her. That made her happy,” Cher said openly.

However, the 77-year-old added that her friend was struggling with her health because “she’s been fighting these diseases for so long.” At the same time, Cher recalled one of her last conversations with the music legend in a telephone interview: “Last time she said to me: I’m really ready. I just don’t want to take it anymore.” Touching words that go straight to the heart.
