Contingency plan uncovered: This is what will happen if Russians manage to kill Zelenskyy

Ukraine appears prepared in the event that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is assassinated and has uncovered a plan after several assassination attempts. This contingency plan provides that in the event of a successful assassination attempt, Zelenskyy’s constitutional powers would immediately be transferred to Ukraine’s leader, opposition MP Mykola Knyazhytsky said. This is regulated in such a way that there would be no power vacuum.

Although the current head of Ukraine’s parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, has only a 40 percent trust rating in opinion polls, he would likely act as a figurehead while other senior officials would direct operations. According to the Daily Express, two different groups of mercenaries, including the Wagner group, have already been sent to kill Zelenskyy. Chechen special forces are also said to have been involved in an assassination attempt.

Tips from Spies

An interesting detail, also reported by the Daily Express, is a tip from Russian spies to the planned assassination, which the Ukrainian side received. The head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Oleksiy Danilo, said the tip came from the FSB, which does not want to take part in the war.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones have descended on the Russian capital, hitting a skyscraper housing Russian government offices. According to the Moscow mayor, two administrative buildings were also attacked. Despite the escalating tensions, Zelenskyy has refuted claims of a Ukrainian drone strike on the Kremlin and insisted they would not target Putin or Moscow, according to the Daily Express.
