Ex-Gladbacher Farke is the new coach at Leeds United

The 46-year-old should be officially announced within the next 24 hours as the new coach of English Premier League relegated Leeds United, the portal “The Athletic” reported on Monday evening.

Farke is said to be promoted to the Premier League with the traditional club, which he has already done twice on the island with Norwich City. The pay-TV broadcaster Sky had previously reported on the forthcoming change.

At Leeds, Farke would succeed Sam Allardyce, with whom the club parted ways after relegation. For Farke it would be a return to the island. In England he completed his longest coaching station so far. Farke coached Norwich City between 2017 and 2021 and led the club back to the Premier League twice in 2019 and 2021.

At Borussia Mönchengladbach, after only 36 competitive games at the end of last season, the coach and club agreed on an amicable termination of the contract. With Farke, Borussia was only tenth in the Bundesliga and clearly missed out on the European Cup places. His successor in the foals is Gerardo Seoane.
