FC Bayern: Munich want to sign William Saliba from Arsenal

Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano are eyeing a change. Bayern’s defense doesn’t seem happy with the situation in Munich. This is one of the reasons why the club bosses are looking for a replacement: William Saliba from Arsenal should come.

At the moment there is a lot of uncertainty about how Bayern’s defense will look like in the coming season. In addition to Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez would also like to leave the record champions early in the summer. In the event of a departure, FCB would have to look for at least one new defender, otherwise only two regular central defenders would remain in Matthjis de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano.

FC Bayern: The club is very interested in Arsenal star William Saliba

The French portal “RMC Sport” now reports that FC Bayern is interested in William Saliba and is considering him as a possible replacement for Hernandez. The 1.92m tall Arsenal defender made his big breakthrough in the Premier League this season and has already made eight appearances for the French national team.

The problem: Arsenal absolutely want to extend with Saliba. According to “The Athletic”, they have already agreed on a contract extension until 2027 plus an option for another season. However, the deal has not yet been officially confirmed.

FC Bayern must hurry with William Saliba

The German record champions still have the opportunity to intervene to prevent a contract extension in London and instead convince Saliba to move to Munich. However, the chances of a transfer should be classified as extremely low.

According to “RMC Sport”, FC Bayern is not the only interested party for Saliba. Manchester United is said to have been courting the Frenchman for a long time, who switched from AS St.-Etienne to the Gunners in 2019 for 30 million euros. Its current market value is estimated at 55 million euros.
