French power from the air: 150 Delair drones for Ukraine

According to The Kyiv Independent, the French government has provided Ukraine with over 150 Delair drones. This choice of technology was made by Ukraine itself, although no precise model information has been given so far. Headquartered in Toulouse, France, Delair has made a name for itself with its sophisticated fixed-wing aircraft. They are used not only for border surveillance, but also for reconnaissance. French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu confirmed that this significant shipment of drones was funded by the French government.

In the past, The Kyiv Independent reports, citing the Delair website, that the drones have been used by the OSCE in Ukraine, by troops in Niger and also by the French army.

France wants to train Ukrainian pilots

Another important development, highlighted by The Kyiv Independent, is France’s decision to join the international coalition that trains Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets. A recent telephone conversation between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron also addressed military cooperation between the two countries, particularly with regard to the security situation in Odessa Oblast.
