Anyone who looked at the stands at FC Bayern’s season finale wondered where Oliver Kahn had gone. The CEO of Bayern apparently did not travel at all. However, this should have a very plausible reason.
CEO Oliver Kahn was absent from the FC Bayern Munich season finale in Cologne. Only the other Bayern bosses Jan-Christian Dreesen, Hasan Salihamidzic and President Herbert Hainer could be seen in the stands.
The reason for Kahn’s absence is said to be quite plausible and has nothing to do with the criticism of him. The 53-year-old is said to have stayed in Munich because of the flu, as the German Press Agency learned from the club on Saturday.
After a turbulent season, Kahn and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic have been heavily criticized by the German record champions. His replacement as CEO could be imminent. The supervisory board of FC Bayern with honorary president Uli Hoeneß will meet next Tuesday.
