Joke about 700 million offer: On Twitter, Hummels demands the same salary as Mbappe – because of this scene.
With an annual salary of 700 million euros, a Saudi football club wants to lure PSG star Kylian Mbappe into the desert. Mats Hummels recalls a scene from the last European Championship and jokingly demands the same payment.
The 700 million euro offer from the Saudi football club Al-Hilal for Kylian Mbappé made ex-world champion Mats Hummels a little jealous. “Equal pay for the boys who tackle and are tackled,” joked the BVB defender on Twitter on Tuesday, alluding to a precarious defensive situation at the 2021 European Championship.
The 34-year-old posted a video of the preliminary round match between Germany and France, in which he tackled the French soccer star from behind and took the ball away from him. The high-risk slide tackle was one of the most discussed scenes of the game. The German team lost anyway – after an own goal by Hummels of all things.
Al-Hilal wants to lure Mbappé with immoral salary
Al-Hilal is said to have made the record offer of 300 million euros to Paris Saint-Germain. According to several media outlets, PSG confirmed the offer and therefore gave Al-Hilal permission to negotiate directly with the goalscorer. In addition, Mbappé should receive a fee of 700 million euros for one season at Al-Hilal.
However, it is unlikely that Mbappé would even consider moving to the internationally less important league. The 2018 soccer world champion is still under contract with Paris until next summer, but had declared that he did not want to extend his contract.
