Kevin Hart receives Mark Twain Prize for his humor
He follows greats like Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler: The comedian and actor Kevin Hart is honored with the Mark Twain Prize. He made the world laugh for more than three decades.
Los Angeles/Washington. The US comedian and actor Kevin Hart (44) will receive this year’s Mark Twain Prize for humor. The organizers at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced this on Wednesday (local time). Hart has made the world laugh with his iconic characters for more than three decades, said Kennedy Center President Deborah Rutter. She praised his achievements as an author, producer, actor and comedian.
In his hometown of Philadelphia (US state of Pennsylvania), Hart started his career in comedy clubs. He later had success in Hollywood with films such as “Ride Along”, “The Best Man”, “Central Intelligence”, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw”.
After stars like Whoopi Goldberg, Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, Jon Stewart and Adam Sandler, Hart is the 25th recipient of the prestigious award. He is scheduled to receive the award at a gala with prominent entertainers on March 24th. The award has been presented by the Kennedy Center since 1998 in memory of the great American humorist Mark Twain (1835-1910).
