Princess Kate is outwardly covered when it comes to the family dispute with Harry and Meghan. But as a new disclosure book says, she is one of the people who are secretly pulling the strings.
Princess Kate (41) is said to have played a key role in the palace’s response to the interview given by Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) to talk show host Oprah Winfrey (69). As The Times aristocrat Valentine Low writes in his new book, Kate has advocated a sharper wording.
Princess Kate controlled palace statement
The Times published an excerpt of Low’s new telly book, Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition, and the Power Players Behind the House of Windsor. The previous book had caused a stir last year and, above all, did not leave a good hair on the renegade couple. For example, a palace employee claimed that Meghan kept yelling at her and even yelled at her on the phone after work.
Now the journalist wants to have revealed how the palace’s statement came about after the explosive TV interview in 2021 – and that Kate acted as the mastermind. Accordingly, it was Prince William’s wife (41) who rejected a milder variant and advocated the following formulation: “While some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and addressed privately by the family.” This was then considered clear Palace statement evaluated: In a polite manner, the royal family conveyed that they had a different opinion than Harry and Meghan.
Here’s how William and Kate go about it
The author quoted a source as saying that Kate expressed the following opinion in the reviews: “History will judge this statement and if this sentence or a similar sentence is not included, everything they said will be taken as true viewed.”
The future queen, as well as William himself, would have spoken out in favor of a “tougher” version. “They both agreed that we needed something to say that the institution didn’t accept a lot of what had been said,” the royal source said. It is an example of how “subtle” Kate is.
Harry and Meghan accused of racism
In the interview with Oprah Winfrey, the duchess of Sussex made serious allegations against the British royal family after moving to the United States. For example, they were denied help with mental health problems. The statement that there were concerns about his skin color before the birth of Archie (4) also caused a stir.
In response to the interview, the palace – then still under Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) – issued a 61-word statement. One is “sad to learn how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan”.
