The Rolling Stones have reached the top of the “Official German Vinyl Charts” with their current album “Hackney Diamonds”, leaving superstar Taylor Swift behind them.
“The Rolling Stones’ 24th studio album, “Hackney Diamonds”, is the most successful record of the year in Germany so far. Mick Jagger (80) and his bandmates lead the “Official German Vinyl Charts”, which are determined by GfK Entertainment. They also have a good chance of being at the top of the vinyl charts at the end of 2023, as the market research company reports.
On October 20th of this year, the band around frontman Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards (79) released their latest album. It is the Rolling Stones’ first studio album with new songs since “A Bigger Bang,” which was released around 18 years ago. “Hackney Diamonds” went straight to number one in the German album charts, and many Stones fans seem to be getting their hands on the long player in fine vinyl. The rock band could end up staying at the top of the annual vinyl charts, which will be released in early December.
Taylor Swift in second place
In the current vinyl ranking, determined by GfK Entertainment, Taylor Swift (33) is in second place with her most recently released album “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”. Her record is currently the most popular by a solo act.
Third place this month goes to rapper Kool Savas (“Red Bull Symphonic (Live)”), followed by Blink-182 with “One More Time…”. Roger Waters (“The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux”) comes in fifth with a new interpretation of what is probably the most famous Pink Floyd record. The “Official German Vinyl Charts” are determined by GfK Entertainment month after month based on sales and usage data from 2,800 retailers.
