Craig died at the age of 59

Tina Turner was the mother of two biological and two adopted children. But it wasn’t just Ronnie that Tina Turner had to say goodbye to as a mother.

Her son Craig Turner died on July 3, 2018 in Los Angeles at the age of 59. Tina Turner was 18 years old when he was born. His father was saxophonist Raymond Hill (1933-1996), who performed with Ike Turner’s band Kings of Rhythm. However, the father left his small family. Tina Turner has been a single parent since then until she got together with Ike Turner.

Craig was adopted by Ike Turner after he and Tina Turner married in 1962. Together, the two then had son Ronnie Turner. Tina Turner adopted Ike Turner’s two sons from a previous relationship. The marriage was divorced in 1978. The singer lived with her second husband (since 2013), the German music manager Erwin Bach (66), in Switzerland.

In Paris she learned of Craig’s death

Tina Turner found out about the death of her son Craig when she was celebrating her 5th wedding anniversary with her husband Erwin Bach in Paris. Her son allegedly committed suicide with a gun. He suffered from depression.

“When Erwin and I returned to the hotel, I just wanted to go to bed because I was very tired. Erwin checked our messages and played our advisor’s. Regarding Craig, she began by saying, ‘Turn off eavesdropping!’ Erwin did and took the phone into the next room,” the singer reported in “My Love Story: The Autobiography.”

At first she didn’t think of anything bad: “I thought about a car that he had crashed or other problems of this kind. When Erwin came back into the room, he seemed deeply shaken. He told me that Craig had died . Not in an accident, which I constantly feared as a worried mother. No, my son had killed himself. He shot himself. I heard what Erwin said, but I didn’t understand it. I was frozen.’ Please don’t let it be true,’ I prayed. I don’t know what happened next.”
