Russia’s losses in Ukraine are rising rapidly: 246,690 soldiers killed

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on August 1 informed about significant losses of Russian troops since the start of the all-out invasion on February 24 last year. According to the General Staff, a total of 246,690 Russian soldiers died in Ukraine. According to the report published by The Kyiv Independent, the impressive figure of 246,690 soldiers killed also includes 500 losses suffered by Russia in the past day alone.

Furthermore, The Kyiv Independent reports that the Russian armed forces are said to have suffered significant material losses. These losses include 4,216 tanks, 8,205 armored fighting vehicles, 7,324 vehicles and fuel tanks, and 4,839 artillery systems. In addition, losses include 699 multiple missile systems, 462 air defense systems, 315 aircraft, 311 helicopters, 4,027 drones and 18 boats.

The figures quoted by The Kyiv Independent from the Ukrainian general staff underscore the intensity and serious consequences of the conflict. They give a chilling insight into the magnitude of the casualties that the war brings.
