Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24 last year, Russia has lost 319,210 soldiers, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. Of these, 640 Russian soldiers died the day before alone, reports “The Kyiv Independent“.
In addition to the personnel losses, Russia lost extensive military equipment. Moscow also reports figures
According to the Daily Express, Moscow also released figures on Sunday, claiming that 605 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed in the last 24 hours. However, a Russian estimate of total Ukrainian losses over the course of the conflict has not been provided.
Ukraine defends Avdiivka
The “Daily Express” also reports the destruction of 15 out of 20 Shahed drones by the Ukrainian air defense system. Furthermore, 38 attack drones were launched on Ukrainian territory overnight. Despite ongoing fighting over the contested town of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region, Ukrainian troops would hold on to defenses and inflict significant casualties on the enemy.
Advance on the Dnipro
In another development, the Ukrainian army said it had pushed back Russian troops on the banks of the Dnipro River between three and eight kilometers. If confirmed, it would be the first significant advance by Ukrainian forces during a counteroffensive that has so far failed to result in any major territorial gains.
