Ukraine defends Avdiivka

The “Daily Express” also reports the destruction of 15 out of 20 Shahed drones by the Ukrainian air defense system. Furthermore, 38 attack drones were launched on Ukrainian territory overnight. Despite ongoing fighting over the contested town of Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region, Ukrainian troops would hold on to defenses and inflict significant casualties on the enemy.

Advance on the Dnipro

In another development, the Ukrainian army said it had pushed back Russian troops on the banks of the Dnipro River between three and eight kilometers. If confirmed, it would be the first significant advance by Ukrainian forces during a counteroffensive that has so far failed to result in any major territorial gains.
