Ryan Mallett: Former Brady replacement drowns in Florida aged 35

Officials say Mallet, who plays for the North American Football League’s New England Patriots, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, was in the water with a group of others when they got into trouble. Mallett went under and lifeguards brought him ashore, but resuscitation measures were unsuccessful.

Brady says goodbye emotionally

“We express our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones after his tragic death,” the official said.

Most recently, Mallett worked as a high school football coach in his native Arkansas. “We lost a great man. Thank you for everything Ryan,” quarterback superstar Tom Brady wrote in an Instagram Story for a photo with Mallett from their Patriots days.
