It’s no longer a secret: Prince Harry (38) and Duchess Meghan (41) finance their luxury life outside the palace walls with lucrative disclosure stories. Six-part Netflix documentary here, explosive autobiography there – and the Sussexes also wanted to really take off on Spotify.
But a few days ago, the surprising news: The music streaming service has ended the collaboration. “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to go their separate ways and are very proud of the series they have made together,” said a spokesman for Harry and Meghan. But it seems as if that doesn’t say everything. Because Bill Simmons, “Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetization” at Spotify and thus the contact person for the Sussexes, is now doing it again in his podcast – and finds clear words.
Spotify exec has gossiped about Harry in the past
“‘The bloody crooks’. This is the podcast we should have done with them,” Simmons said. He also hints that he has a lot to share about King Charles’ (74) son. “I was supposed to get drunk for a night and talk about the Zoom call I had with Harry trying to help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories.”
For now, the anecdote remains untold, but it’s not the first time the podcaster has snubbed Harry. Back in January, he said on an episode of his podcast: “I’m so tired of him (Harry). What is he contributing? He just complains about everything and gives interviews.”
