Strategic village falls: Ukraine liberates Andriivka in Donetsk Oblast

The liberation of Andriyivka, a village in Donetsk Oblast, by Ukrainian forces has been confirmed. This was announced by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to The Kyiv Independent. Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar had announced this news a day earlier. However, it was denied by the 3rd Assault Brigade fighting for Bakhmut. The reason for this is that the fighting in the Klishchyivka and Andriivka regions continued. Maliar then corrected her statement.

Andriyivka freed: confirmation and clarification

The next day, September 15, the deputy defense minister again emphasized the liberation of Andriivka, referring to the information from the General Staff. She explained the ambiguities that had previously arisen with the dynamic situation on site. According to the General Staff, Andriyivka was liberated by Russian troops and there were significant losses for the Russian units, especially near Klishchyivka. Andriyivka is strategically located near Klishchyivka and just ten kilometers south of occupied Bakhmut.
