In the past few days there have been numerous rumors and speculations about Manuel Neuer and his physical condition. Thomas Tuchel now commented on the current status of the 37-year-old goalkeeper.
Even if Manuel Neuer recently emphasized that he is “doing great”, the FCB captain will still have to be patient when it comes to his comeback. As Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed on Saturday, the goalkeeper will not complete the training camp at Tegernsee. Neuer will also not take part in the Munich trip to Asia afterwards: “Manuel Neuer will continue to train individually. The plan is that he doesn’t come to Asia. After that, he should be integrated back into team training,” said Tuchel at the start of the summer preparations.
Tuchel wants to give Neuer enough time
Tuchel also made it clear that in all likelihood Neuer will not be ready for action at the start of the season either: “It is a very tight schedule. We need patience and he gets that too. The start of the league game and the Super Cup is too narrow a goal.” According to the 49-year-old, Bayern cannot currently estimate when Neuer will be 100 percent again: “When the time comes, it won’t take too much time to get back in.”
