US seeks coalition to fight Hamas funding

The aim is to form a coalition “with countries in the region, but also around the world” to take action against the financing of Hamas, said Deputy Finance Minister Wally Adeyemo on Tuesday in Washington. The militant Palestinian organization ruling in the Gaza Strip launched a major attack on Israel on October 7th, in which, according to Israeli information, around 1,400 people were killed and more than 220 people were kidnapped as hostages in the Gaza Strip.

In response to the attack, Israel sealed off the Gaza Strip and launched massive airstrikes. More than 5,800 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli attacks began, according to Hamas figures that could not be independently verified by AFP. Israel has repeatedly announced that it will “destroy” Hamas, which has also been classified as a terrorist organization by the USA, the European Union and other states.
