Moscow accuses US and UK of complicity in attack on Crimea In a latest development, Russia is accusing the US and UK of taking part in the recent Ukrainian offensive against the center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol in the disputed Crimea. Maria Zakharova, press spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in a press release in Moscow on Wednesday that both Western countries have been supporting the “criminal regime” in Kiev for some time. “The attack on September 22nd was definitely carried out with the participation of the secret services from the USA and Great Britain,” said Zakharova.
According to Russian information, Western information data, satellites from NATO members and reconnaissance aircraft were used for this operation. Zakharova emphasized: “The aim of such acts is obviously to cover up the misadventures of the Ukrainian counterattacks and to cause fear and unrest in our society.”
In this drone and missile attack, Kiev says it significantly damaged the Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol and claims a total of 34 officers were killed. However, no concrete evidence of this was presented by Kiev. Russia, which has been engaged in an attack on Ukraine for over 19 months, has reported only one missing person after this incident.
