“Come on, big tits – they’re mine” – the recent release of audio recordings between Rudy Giuliani and his former colleague Noelle Dunphy made headlines this week.
The already tarnished reputation of the former New York mayor has now been damaged even more. With his statements, Giuliani outed himself as sexist, homophobic and anti-Semitic.
Dunphy sued her former employer for $10 million in May. This week, the recordings of previous conversations with her then-boss were released. The 43-year-old’s allegations: Giuliani forced her to have sex and withheld her salary.
Sexual demands ‘really anytime, anywhere’
From 2019 to 2021, Dunphy worked as an independent counsel for Giuliani, who was then serving as an attorney for then-President Donald Trump.
She says she was promised a million dollars as an annual salary – but she was said to have only been paid $12,000. In addition, Giuliani assured her that she would represent her in court free of charge against an abusive ex-partner.
But shortly after she was hired, her supervisor left no doubt “that his sexual demands – which he really made anytime and anywhere – were an absolute prerequisite for her employment and his legal help”.
He sexually assaulted her multiple times and “perpetuated a cycle of abuse.” “While working with Ms. Dunphy, Giuliani looked at her, pointed to his erect penis and told her he could not return to work until she ‘handled it,'” the indictment says.
“You are my whore. You are my fucking whore”
Giuliani denies the allegations, claiming the relationship was consensual. In June, he asked the judge to drop parts of the charges and penalize Dunphy and her attorney.
But now Dunphy’s lawyers presented the legally confirmed recordings of the talks at the beginning of the week. They also demanded that Giuliani and his lawyer be punished – after all, Giuliani had repeatedly demonstrated gross contempt for the court.
A few weeks ago, an independent panel of lawyers recommended that the 70-year-old be revoked his license to practice law. Their rationale: Giuliani’s complicity in Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.
“You are my whore. You’re my fucking whore,” Giuliani is said to have said to Dunphy, according to the recordings. Other times, the 79-year-old calls her “my daughter” and “my little girl.”
“I would never think of an intelligent girl. When I’m told a girl is smart, I often assume she’s not attractive,” the notes read.
“Matt Damon is a fag.”
In a March 2019 recording, the lawyer is quoted as saying, “Come on, big tits. Give them to me. I challenge my tits,” he repeats three more times.
The transcript continues: “These tits are mine. Nobody else can get close to them, okay? I don’t care if they’re flirting or someone gives you their business card. These are mine, is that clear?”
In other audio recordings, Giuliani and his collaborator speculate on which celebrities are politically conservative. Responding to Dunphy’s comment that actor Matt Damon was “very liberal,” Giuliani responded with a homophobic swear word, according to the recordings.
“Matt Damon is a fag. Matt Damon is also five feet five. His eyes are blue. Coochie-coochie-coochie-coo.” (The last expression is popular among American parents to make their babies laugh, but in slang it also means a drunk woman’s genitals). He later also claimed that his successor, former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, was gay.
Giuliani is also charged with defamation
In addition, Giuliani is said to have mocked the penis sizes of Jewish men. Men with Italian roots – like himself – are far better built, he claims in the audio recordings.
“That’s how natural selection works. Jewish men have small dicks because they can’t use them once they’re married. Italian men, on the other hand, use them all their lives, so they get bigger.”
He also commented condescendingly on the Jewish Passover: “Jews. They always want to celebrate the damn Passover. Man oh man. Get over it. That was 3,000 years ago or something.”
Dunphy’s lawsuit is just one of Giuliani’s current legal problems. In the US state of Georgia, he was recently accused of defamation by two election officials. And another charge against him is: complicity in Trump’s attempts to overthrow the 2020 election.
