Travel entry requirements differ from one country to another, but several destinations have introduced relatively straightforward procedures for eligible foreign visitors, including visa-free entry or longer permitted stays. Georgia, Serbia and Thailand are among the countries offering such arrangements, although the conditions and length of stay depend on the traveler’s nationality and the type of travel document held.
Georgia
Georgia offers visa-free entry to US citizens, allowing them to remain in the country for up to 365 days. The arrangement also permits eligible visitors to work and study during their stay.

Despite the simplified entry process, travelers should meet Georgia’s other entry requirements. Tourists are required to have valid health and accident insurance with coverage of at least 30,000 Georgian lari, equivalent to roughly $11,000.
For eligible visitors, entering Georgia is generally straightforward, with border authorities primarily checking travel documents and other required conditions rather than requiring a lengthy visa application process.
Serbia
Serbia also provides visa-free or facilitated entry to certain nationalities. US citizens holding ordinary passports, for example, can enter Serbia without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within a six-month period.
In addition, some foreign nationals who hold valid visas or residence permits issued by countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, EU member states or Schengen countries may qualify for visa-free entry for up to 90 days, subject to Serbia’s applicable conditions.
Travelers staying in private accommodation must also register their stay with the relevant authorities within 24 hours of arrival or of changing their place of residence.
Serbian border authorities may also ask visitors to provide evidence such as a return ticket, accommodation details, proof of sufficient funds or valid travel medical insurance, depending on the circumstances.
Thailand
Thailand has also revised its visa-exemption arrangements. As of September 15, 2026, nationals of eligible countries and territories can enter under a new 30-day visa-exemption scheme for tourism, business engagements or certain urgent or ad-hoc work. The permitted stay can be extended for up to another 30 days at the discretion of an immigration officer.
The revised rules replaced Thailand’s previous 60-day visa-exemption arrangement, which applied to a larger group of nationalities. Travelers should therefore check the latest eligibility list before making arrangements, as visa-free treatment depends on the passport they hold.
Visitors entering Thailand under the visa-exemption scheme must also meet additional requirements, including having sufficient funds for their stay. The current guidance specifies at least 20,000 baht per person or 40,000 baht per family.
These destinations demonstrate how entry arrangements can vary significantly by nationality. Travelers should check the latest requirements with the relevant immigration or foreign ministry authorities before departure, particularly because visa policies, permitted stays and supporting-document requirements can change.
